Frostbites

You’ve been cold for so long

So frore

Frosty

That you burn down anything that

Grazes your skin

And you forgot what it’s like

To be touched and not be winced at

But you see

All things cold one day

Shall either dry up or melt down

Oceans, ice, hearts

They scorch the land brown

Or they engulf it whole

The lakes, the tears

Shall drown

The ones swimming in them

And those watching by the banks

They shall feel you for the very last time

All the silence, the stillness

Tranquility

Or they shall thirst your presence

In the drouth

You shall leave behind

What you should know is

That I’m ready to drown

Even when I know

That I shall get drenched in things

That may leave me withered up later.
